Wayfinding & Informational Signage
A large part of my graphic design background lies in informational, wayfinding, and business identity signage. Effectively designed signage should navigate the public through their environment.
You can think of this signage as Directional, Regulatory, Informational, and Indetifying. We see this type of signage in almost all public and commercial spaces.
Properly designed wayfinding and informational signs should be consistent to one another throughout the property, they should be simple and clearly designed, they should be placed in strategic locations, and they should be accessible.
Fleet Graphics & Branding
Fleet graphics are a great way for a company to advertise, but the artwork must be consistent with the company’s branding, as well as across multiple vehicle types. In this design, solid red and black graphics on white vehicles create an eye-catching layout that remains easy to read even when the vehicle is in motion.
The lettering and logo are in a vector format for this client, so we can scale the artwork to any size without losing quality. By creating a custom template, we could design around obstacles and give the client a clear idea of what to expect on the final wrapped vehicle.
Marketing Collateral
Designing for handheld products differs greatly from designing for vehicle wraps or lettering. The length of time the viewer has to review and retain the information being advertised determines how that information is displayed.
How much information is included, how it’s arranged, even fonts and colors may be different when approaching one type of advertising over the other. Marketing collateral often refers to the hand-held products, but it’s really any digital or physical design or product that helps to engage customers, drives business growth, and promotes a customer’s brand, service, or product.
Art Prompt Sketchbook
Sketching is a great way to flesh out spatial planning, logo designs, or experiences. I designed this book as a prompt tool for sketching spaces while also incorporating information on point of view, style, and linear perspective.
This prompt book is intended to allow your imagination to take over by removing the “What should I draw?” question from the equation. It also goes beyond prompting a single object to prompting an entire scene, room, or general space. Although you may choose to focus on one object within that space.
Art inspiration comes in many forms. Often, it’s through our experiences with the spaces around us that an object, a person, a location, or a situation will inspire us to create a work of art. This book can be used as a sketch journal by drawing on your experiences and journaling spaces that particularly affect you.

Logo Design & Application
When designing a logo, the application or product it will be displayed on should be kept in mind for clear readability and effectiveness. Logo design should reflect the type of company, form a part of the branding as a whole, and allow duplication onto products and vehicles.
To start the logo design process, the client is ‘interviewed’ and asked questions to create a starting point. The ‘feel’ the client is going for, the type of business it is, any existing colors or branding in place, fonts the customer either likes or is already using, and any slogan or complimentary artwork are all considered.

Cover Design of 4 Novels
The cover artwork for all four of my novels was designed with a combination of Photoshop and vector-based software. There are sizing constraints for book cover design depending on the book size and number of pages. Artwork bleeds, barcode placement, spine artwork, and other parameters have to be taken into account when setting up the artwork as well.
Books really are judged by their covers, so it’s essential to create imagery that conveys the feeling of the story within. Incorporating stock photo artwork, Photoshop effects, image layering, font choice, and other design elements, I created book covers that encourage a reader to discover my stories.

Airplane Wrap – Design, Printing, & Installation
This was a challenging, but fun project for our local police department. The airplane had outdated graphics that we needed to remove while designing new graphics to match the department’s existing branding.
Photos of the plane were scaled in our vector-based program, and cut graphics were set up for output. The plane graphics were designed in Photoshop. Proofs of the potential graphics were presented to the client and laid out on photos of the plane to provide an accurate representation of what they could expect.

Typography & Photoshop Mock-ups
All laser-engraved products on my 26 Letters site are first custom-designed as vector artwork. The vector artwork is scaled to fit the product it’s going on and is sent to the Epilog laser engraver for output.
The vector artwork is exported to Photoshop to create website and advertising mock-ups. The vector artwork is designed on photos of the product, or high-quality images of engraved products are imported into Photoshop. The completed artwork is then incorporated into layouts for both website use and for social media advertising.
